Abstract:
Two pathogenic Escherichia coli Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) and Enterohemorrhagic
E. coli (EHEC) adhere to the outside of host cells and induce cytoskeletal
rearrangements leading to the formation of membrane-encased pedestals
comprised of actin filaments and other associated proteins beneath the bacteria. Keywords:
actin; alpha-actinin; EPEC; EHEC; FRAP; pathogens Materials & Methods:
PtK2 cells were grown on 35-mm glass-bottom dishes (MatTek Ashland MA) as described by Ayoob et al. [2000b]. Microscopic Technique
Fluorescence Microscopy, Inverted Fluorescence Microscopy Cell Type(s)
