Abstract:
Zinc is coreleased with glutamate from excitatory nerve terminals throughout the central nervous system and acutely inhibits Nmethyl- D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor activation. Here we report that cultured murine cortical neurons briefly exposed to sublethal Materials & Methods:
Mixed or near-pure neuronal cortical cell
cultures were prepared from fetal mice (15–16 days gestation)
as previously described (51). Dissociated cortical cells were
plated on established glial cultures in 24-well culture plates or in
glass-bottom 35-mm dishes (MatTek Ashland MA) or for Microscopic Technique
