Abstract:
The objective of this study was to examine whetherHCECs express functional proteinase-activated receptor(PAR)-1 and -2 and evaluate the effects of receptor activationon corneal epithelial cell proinflammatory cytokine production.

Materials & Methods:
HCEC-3 and HCE-T cells were cultured on 35-mm glass-bottomed microwell dishes (MatTek Corp. Ashland MA) and starved overnight.
