Abstract:
Transfected and endogenous Kv2.1 is now demonstrated to preferentially accumulatewithin the axon initial segment (AIS) over other neurite processes; 87% of 14 DIV hippocampalneurons show endogenous channel concentrated at the AIS relative to the soma

Materials & Methods:
Briefly neurons from cryo-preserved E18 rat hippocampal dissociations were plated at a density of ~15000 – 30000 cells/cm2 on poly-D-lysine coated glass-bottom dishes (MatTek)
