New Web Site Dedicated to Glass Bottom Culture Dishes

Ashland, MA - April 19, 2002 - MatTek Corp. today announced the launch of a new Web site dedicated to its Glass Bottom Culture Dish product line used by life science researchers to improve the quality of their high resolution microscopic cell culture images.

The Web site, GlassBottomDishes.com (www.glass-bottom-dishes.com), was actually launched in mid-January and has been undergoing testing and improvements since then.

In addition to containing detailed product specifications, pricing, and ordering information, the Web site also provides a large (and growing) searchable listing of Technical References, a Dish Selection Guide, and Customer testimonials. According to Dave Ingalls, MatTek's Sales & Marketing Mgr., "The site's latest feature, Customer Photos, an electronic gallery of Customer-generated cell images created using MatTek's Glass Bottom Culture Dishes, is particularly interesting to both new and existing Customers. It's a real-world demonstration of what this product line is all about-helping life science researchers improve the quality of their high resolution microscopic cell culture images."

"One of the site features that new users really appreciate is our Free Sample Program. We know it's difficult for researchers to change to a new product, especially in mid-experiment, so we provide free samples of our product to new users so they can try the product before ordering. Researchers can order their Free Sample on the Web site by filling out a simple online form."

Why should a small company create a second Web site to support a second product offering? "As the number of Glass Bottom Culture Dish Customers increased dramatically over the last 2-3 years, the amount of information about the use of these products also increased significantly. In order to share this information with the life science research community in the most efficient manner, we felt it was necessary to dedicate a separate Web site to these products. Also, centralizing this information in a Web site is the most cost-effective way for a small company like MatTek to provide comprehensive technical product information to a worldwide technical user audience, especially one who routinely uses the Web to research, locate and order new innovative products. Finally, because these products are not routinely sold to MatTek's core in vitro tissue model Customer base, we thought that creating a separate Web site for our Glass Bottom Culture Dishes would best serve all of our Customers."
